During the first year of the second Trump administration, the abortion access movement faced escalating and sustained threats. In January alone, the administration pardoned 23 individuals convicted of FACE Act violations, advanced the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” aimed at defunding abortion providers by restricting Medicaid access, and announced an FDA review of mifepristone, jeopardizing access to medication abortion across the country. At the state level, anti-abortion lawmakers continued to pursue restrictive policies designed to limit care.

Despite this hostile landscape, abortion providers across the U.S. remained steadfast in meeting their patients’ essential health care needs. The National Abortion Federation (NAF) supported our diverse membership, including independent abortion providers, Planned Parenthood affiliates, hospitals, women’s health centers, family planning facilities, and individual members, by delivering critical programs and services that help ensure safe, high-quality abortion care. Generous support from our funders helped us advance our mission in 2025: to unite, represent, serve, and support abortion providers in delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care nationwide.

Here are some of the highlights of our work in 2025:
